The Uninvited

Our practice involves constructing dramatic narratives with geometric shapes and scale models. The Uninvited is a concept originating in the British Sci-Fi TV Series from the 1990’s, where the “Uninvited” invade an English coastal town that had fallen into the sea. They enter the bodies of townspeople who had perished in the natural disaster, unbeknownst to authorities and survivors.

The Uninvited Aliens must, at first, learn how to function in their constricting human forms, how to perceive human behaviours, and how to control the circumstances around them before being able to carry out their plan for the complete annihilation of their human hosts.

Employing miniature sets, cut-out figures and photography, we constructed a playful world for this “deadly duality” to unfold. The twenty-four visual allegories of the photo series are meant to resonate with the contemporary issues of migration, identity, and moral ambiguity.
